Wichita High School East International Baccalaureate Program
Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the IB program is a college preperatory program that offers college-level classes to high school students.
The East High IB program started in 1992 and still operates as the highest level of education for Wichita high school students.
My personal experience in the IB program is one of true well-rounded education. It has prepared me for college above and beyond any other high school program.

All about Matthew!
I grew up...
in Wichita, Kansas. I was born on August 16th, 1979. The rest of the events of my life are rather uneventful. I went to Emerson Magnet School where I was blessed to have the greatest teacher I've ever had: Jonathon Powell. I still compare every teacher I have to him.
After moving to a new district, I transfered from Hadley to Hamilton for middle school. Hamilton was a learning experience, but sadly it was not educational at all. I learned how to hide from bullies and avoid the guys packing guns. Finally moving up to East was a blessing. There, I met one of the greatest friends of my life. Josh Baska was the coolest.
East High was a transition point in my life. It was then that I realized that I wanted to be a Wildcat. I also met Sarah Loehr, Jaimee Hedrick, Laura Hancock, Erica Belderol, Fletcher Powell, Chris Edwards, Marie Unruh, Nathaniel Parker, Josh Stough, Marissa Moreno, Monica Monuz, Tia Anija, Jim Cole, Ali Porbandarwala, Laura Denny, and all you other crazy kids that I forgot to mention.
I owe so much to the IB program for getting me to where I am today. The program and its excellent teachers (Fever, Doc, Kramer, Niles, Brother Allen, Jessup, and Mr. Umansky) taught me the value of giving back to the community, working har dfor what you want, and the ability to stay up for 52 straight hours writing a paper that is due later that day.
My Family
This is a small section of my family. From left to right, my sister with my nephew on her lap, my brother, my mom, and my niece. My brother is not pictured because I don't have a picture of him
